Florida Concealed Weapon Permits


Initial Application:

A tax collector deputy will direct you to a station where you will complete a confidential electronic application form. Next, the application will be reviewed for completion by the deputy. Payment will then be requested, your photograph will be taken, and your fingerprints electronically scanned. Your application and documentation will then be submitted electronically to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for processing. *Please note, the final determination of an applicant’s eligibility for licensure will be made by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Please bring:

  • An acceptable picture ID; for example, a driver's license or state-issued identification card.
  • A copy of an acceptable form of training documentation to confirm firearm proficiency.
  • Payment method: cash, check, debit, or credit card.* Checks must be made payable to David W. Jordan, Lake County Tax Collector, and not to the Department of Agriculture.
  • If ever arrested, for a non-disqualifying offense, bring with you certified copies of the court documentation reflecting the final disposition of the charge(s) filed against you. (check eligibility)
  • If you were born outside the United States, or if you are a permanent legal resident alien, bring with you official documentation that confirms your citizenship status.
  • Any legal documentation associated with a name change.

Renewal Application:
A tax collector deputy will take your photograph and submit your renewal application electronically to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for processing.

Please bring:

  • An acceptable picture ID; for example, a driver's license or state-issued identification card.
  • Payment method: cash, check, debit, or credit card.* Checks must be made payable to David W. Jordan, Lake County Tax Collector, and not to the Department of Agriculture.
  • If arrested since the last issuance of your concealed weapon permit, for a non-disqualifying offense, bring with you certified copies of the court documentation reflecting the final disposition of the charge(s) filed against you.
  • Any legal documentation associated with a name change.
  • Your renewal notice.
